Review of Splintered Existence by H.R.Holt

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion.
I gave Splintered Existence 2.5 stars and here is why:

I don’t think I have ever been so confused reading a book – there wasn’t a constant storyline and the the plot-line just continuously went off on a tangent! I hate to give bad reviews but I couldn’t for the life of me get into this book!

I managed to get to the end of the book (painfully I regrettably add) and it didn’t get any better as it went along. There are three love interests! really? All three scattered into different storylines until you just don’t know which relationship your rooting for. There was also about 20 extra characters that just weren’t needed and trying to remember everyone’s names and roles was like a full time job! If you did manage to comprehend who some were they were out of the book within a few pages – its safe to say I was not impressed!

There was a cute romance vibe to the book which I did like but the sex scenes for me were a little vulgar! I’m all for graphic descriptions of steamy rendezvous but H.R.Holt took them a little too far! I was even wincing at a few!

In conclusion, I don’t know whether the author just had a lot of ideas and didn’t know how to diminish which ones weren’t needed but if I could give any advice as an obsessive reader and reviewer I would say sometimes simple is better because after this book I would say your’e just not that great at making complicated readable.
