Removal of the Guard by J.C. Lee Review

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest and unbiased opinion. I gave this book 4 stars and here is why:

Removal of the guard is an erotic romance with hints of 50 shades entwined, take away the BDSM and the arrogant Mr Grey and you get this. It was only a short story but in the little period of time I was reading, I was fixated.

The characters really got you into the story, even the supporting characters – There was Maya the female protagonist who is a strong, intellectual woman with an abrupt attitude to how she thinks and feels which coincides nicely with her best friend and roommate Izzy who is the exact opposite of her. There is then the delectable Ashton Drake whose arrogance is only succumbed to his sex appeal and last but not entirely least Mark the doting work friend who wants so much more than Maya could ever give him.

There was a nice mix of ying and yang it wasn’t all sex, all of the time like you sometimes find in an erotica novel. It had a story that made you grasp at something and it also makes you want to continue onto the next one. Honestly the only thing that let the book down for me was the shortness of the read and that was because I wanted so much more.

There is no doubt in my mind that I will continue onto the next one and probably the next one after that. Move over E.L, J.C is in the house.
