Services Bought by Nikki Steele Review

Here’s my review for Services bought by Nikki Steele which I gave 4 stars:

‘Services bought’ is a steamy romance book with all the spice you could possibly need in a short but well written story.

It focuses on Anna who has just lost the love of her life to his pregnant ex-girlfriend because he wants to be an honourable man. Anna hatches a plan to become part of their lives whether he likes it or not. She seduces his movie star girlfriend with every intention of getting into his bed also, and it doesn’t take much convincing. What follows is a juicy ménage à trois that has you hot under the collar.

This is a brilliant bit of writing by Nikki Steele and it was a pleasure to read. No pun intended. The only downfall was for me it was too short and too much was crammed into such a short text.

Saving Georgia by Kristin Flynn Review

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I gave this book 3.5 stars and here is why:

Saving Georgia was a great read with lots of drama and romance, it has a great love triangle that anyone will love to sink their teeth into. The plot is good it has a great deal of tribulation and the main protagonist Georgia is likeable enough, although she was a little weak for my taste.

I felt that in some parts the plot line was a little ridiculous, nothing is how she wants it to be and then all of a sudden everyone is fighting for her attention and everything has changed within her life, she also started out as some big tomboy and finishes off loving dressing up and has an unlikely obsession with how her hair looks.

Don’t get me wrong I am all for the book, it has a great concept and if I was to see it as a blurb or synopsis I would most definitely snatch it up but I don’t believe it was executed as well as it could have been maybe it was rushed a little to get it finished, personally I don’t know there is something about it that I’m not altogether sold on.

I also hate it when authors plug religion into people, I’m not against it, but I don’t like it when it’s shoved in my face.

Altogether Kristin Flynn did a good job, it wasn’t perfect and there is definitely work to be done but that being said it is the first in the series and she has plenty of time to improve.

Unknown-232What they say:

‘Escape from reality comes in patent-leather Prada kneeboots

Dawn Ellis needs to escape from her painfully dull existence. Her unemployed husband spends all day complaining about life, moping around, or fixing lawnmowers on her kitchen table. The local writing class proves to be an
adequate distraction with its eccentric collection of wannabe authors and, of course, the enigmatic Jason, who soon shows a romantic interest in her.

Dawn pours her inner frustrations into her first novel about the extraordinary exploits of Cinnamon Knight, an avenging angel — a woman who doesn’t believe in following the rules. Cinnamon is ruthless and wanton, inflicting suffering on any man who warrants it. Little does Dawn realise that soon the line between reality and fiction will blur. Her own life will be transformed, and those close to her will pay the price. Find out what happens in Just Add Spice by best-selling author Carol E Wyer.’

Author Info

So being a writer you’d think I’d come up with some interesting story about myself. Funny lines, heart

stopping stories… wrong. All wrong. Here’s the basics: I was born in Brookline, Massachusetts. I

currently reside in Smithfield, NC with my amazing husband that I have been with for 7 years. We have

three wonderful children who like to keep us busy! I love to cook and bake, but it can be a challenge

to find something everyone likes! Someone is always complaining and refusing to eat what I slaved

over a hot stove for. That is part of the reason I should invest in wine. I drink it. A lot. I started writing

when I was VERY young. Pretty much since I could put pen to paper stories started to come! I was first

published when I was 13. Cool right? No, it wasn’t smut. Actually, it was poetry. I have 5 sisters and one

brother. I am very proud of my family! Fun stuff to know: I love Moscato. I don’t have a favorite color,

although my husband might disagree with me on that one. I talk in movie quotes, and it gets annoying at

times. I have a severe addiction to Ginger Ale of all things. Without enough sleep, my family avoids me

because I revert back to a toddler. I love to smile and laugh, often at my husband’s expense. He does the

same thing to me, it’s all fair game. I HATE talking on the phone. But it is a necessary evil. I don’t know

how to handle people when they are crying. It gets awkward and I don’t know what to do. Please don’t

cry in front of me. I love deeply, and I’m a fiercely loyal friend. I won’t and don’t judge people; I’ll be

friends with anyone. I’m a die-hard Red Sox fan- my best friend is a Yankee’s fan. Case in point. Bored

yet? OK. Let’s wrap this up. Walking Dead, Son’s of Anarchy and book boyfriends. Oh and Luke Bryan –

Oh! And I can’t cook a baked potato to save my life. Seriously, it’s a lost cause.

“Hey Georgia, is there anything I could do that you wouldn’t forgive me for?” Shane asks me, without

“Like, if you kill someone or something” I ask.

“Anything, anything at all” Shane continues. “From small things to big things, is there anything you

“Hurting people is kind of a big thing for me.” I confess.

“Why?” I ask, wondering what is this guy up to. Is he going to make Jason or Harper disappear? Is he

going to paint the water tower or something?

“I want to make sure you forgive me for what I am about to do.” He says, closing his eyes.

Oh this must be big! Oh dear, what is going to happen. My body starts to shake, freaking out that he is

going to get hurt or something it going to tear him apart from me.

“What…. What are you about to…” and before I could finish my question, Shane’s hand is holding the

back of my head, and his lips are on mine, pushing against my open l mouth. Butterflies fill my stomach

and I feel a pull in the deepest part of my belly. I’m so taken aback and surprised I can’t move, then

suddenly I am kissing him back. My hands pulling his gorgeous brown hair, my legs wrapping tighter

around his waist, and my mouth is hungrily searching for his. My skin is a million sensations; cold from

the water, and slightly burned, but tantalized by the sensation of Shane touching me. My chest rises

and falls with such bravado in my heady need for affection. I’m beguiled in this transaction of kisses

and tongues. He lifts me from my bottom, wades out the water and lays me down on a towel. The beach

is empty for all but us, and I feel the weight of my best friend on top of me. He puts his knees between

mine, and moves my hair from my face; looking down at me he smiles and kisses me ever so gently.

“I am a different person with you. Never would I have ever condoned this exhibitionist behavior,

or almost throwing my virtue to the wind. It’s like you spellbind me, I’m beguiled.” I purge myself

emotionally, and I’m scared to see what he is going to respond with, if anything.

“I see. Well, if I were to do any of those things, don’t you think I could have done it correctly? I’d have

had you already, in every way I desire.” Jason says, looking deep into my eyes and planting a simple kiss

on my astonished lips. I swear he sucks my breath out every time he gives me those smoldering eyes.

“The fact that I am exhibiting pure control, and I’m honoring your requests should show me in a slightly

different light, should it not?” He whispers into my lips.

The Power to See by Jennifer Anne Davis Promo Post

At first glance, twenty-two-year-old Brianna’s life seems perfect. But she harbors a deadly secret—her father is the leader of a ruthless drug cartel. Brianna struggles to find her place in a world her father meticulously controls, and believes she is nothing but a pawn in her father’s deadly games.

After graduating from college with an enormous debt, Dominic finds himself lured by money and power into a job that appears too good to be true. He doesn’t realize he works for a drug cartel until he’s in too deep. Trying to keep his family safe, he takes a deal offered by Brianna’s father and agrees to marry Brianna while continuing to work for the cartel.

Brianna and Dominic must rely on one another as their lives become further entwined in the lethal drug world. When Dominic discovers a deadly secret, he begins to question everything and turns to Brianna for support. However, Brianna’s heart belongs to another man—an undercover DEA agent.

The DEA closes in on the drug cartel, forcing Brianna and Dominic to choose sides, igniting a battle between family loyalty, love, and survival. Brianna soon realizes that she may be the only person capable of bringing down her father’s empire—if she can find a way to outsmart the master manipulator, without losing herself, and her heart, in the process.

Altered by Shawnda Currie Review

I received this for free in exchange for my honest review and unbiased opinion. I gave this book 4 stars and here is why:

Altered – Revelations of the evolved was brilliant, it was packed with drama from start to end. It focuses on Lacey a teenage girl with a rubbish family and a wayward path as she is court ordered into a rehab facility where not everything is as it seems. She is then transported into a different universe in which she is the only one who can save the world from its troublesome future with her sexy guardian Taylor.

I didn’t put it down and continued to read until I had finished whereas then I started on the second book. Shawnda did a great job at creating an awesome YA tale which had a lot of twist and turns to keep you on your toes.

I love the relationship that Lacey and Taylor have, it’s thrilling to see it progress throughout the book and as the plot hits its climax so does their relationship. Also a shout out to Zed who is a great supporting character, I like the fact that he is the rebel and when all the plans get serious he manages to keep the mood light and break the rules. That’s my kind of guy!

Easter’s Lilly by Judy Serrano Review

I received this book for free in exchange for my honest opinion and review. I gave this book 4 stars and here is why:

Easters Lilly was a great book with a great plot and concept, There were twists and turns around every corner and nothing was predictable or clichéd which is so hard to do in a romance novel.

The characters were truly exceptional and being pushed into the grimy life of drug dealers and gangs was not something I expected but it was thoroughly enjoyable. The story is based on Lilly, the naïve little girl who gets herself into a troublesome situation when she falls in love with a drug user and dealer. Everyone around her seems to try and manipulate her into situations rather than helping her until she meets Diego and Maxwell. This is when everything changes for better and for worse.

The only down fall I would say this book had would be the length, It was seriously too long for the content in it, sometimes it felt repetitive and outdated other than that it was great read!

I love Maxwell, he is so cute and in love with Lilly and between him and Hector they manage to keep her and the little ones safe. I don’t really understand the love triangle that Judy was trying to recreate with Diego at the end. Who in their right mind would go back to someone who has been trying to them and everyone around them?

I will be definitely be reading the next in the series and I certainly hope that it has some fresh ideas without the need to bang on the same drum all over again!
